We've all heard the saying, "You can't judge a book by it's cover." I confess, I do it all the time. Not only do I judge the book, I buy the book FOR the cover! I can't tell you how many books I have happily displayed on my shelves just for the sake of the artwork on the cover. The other sad truth is, if I don't care for a cover, I generally won't buy the book. I am a very visual kind of gal. This is exactly why I was drawn to Linda Weaver Clarke and her fabulous books. I LOVE her covers! I love lace, bears, wilderness, romance, and pretty shoes--and her books have them all.
The other thing I love about Linda's books is: they are all FAMILY FRIENDLY, and that is huge in my book.
I think I've shared that the reason I keep writing books is because I keep making book covers. I just can't seem to stop clicking through pictures and pasting them together to create something that triggers a story in my head. I don't even begin writing until I have my cover--I have to know what my characters look like. What color are their eyes? What kind of dresses do they like? What kind of shoes do they wear?
I'm the same way once I see a cover I like. I am dying to know the people inside. I hope you see the beauty I see when I look at Linda's covers. It's like pure art and a story just waiting to be read....happy reading y'all!
